Chapter two, Paul focuses primarily with the emphasis on teaching sound doctrine and not letting anything you say or act go against the teaching of Jesus. He lays down the importance of the elders setting the example for the community. The real need for Christian role models in order to foster a Christian community. I think this is an important message to carry today but should be extended to everyone. Young immaturity cannot be a vail for how to act virtuously. Younger people take the spotlight often, musicians, athletes, influencers, and are being watched from an age before they weren’t. Younger kids look to younger people for example. The importance of solidifying virtuous actions from the beginning is how we will adapt to a younger society being in the spotlight.
I know the last paragraph seems outdated and slanderous talking to slaves but what if we replace the word slave with employee. What if we replace it with servant to God. No human is owned by anyone and upholding dignity and right to life is very important but following a chain of command and respecting people put into authority requires trust and faith and not stealing and sanctifying oneself through their job. Whether it is minister or 9-5 cubicle accountant.
