Reflection for Friday, March 27th 2020

Today's Readings:  Wisdom 2:1, 12-22;  Psalm 34; John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30
(Look Them Up!)

Today's Old Testament Reading from the Hebrew Scriptures is fascinating!  Please take time to read it, either using The Word Among Us devotional provided by our parish, or open your bible to the Book of Wisdom, Chapter 2.

As I read this passage, I see in it  over and over, Jesus Christ, the Messiah (Anointed One).
"The wicked said among themselves......."
"He professes to have knowledge of God and styles himself a child of the Lord."
"His life is not like that of others, and different are his ways..."
"He calls blest the destiny of the just and boasts that God is his Father."

"If the just one be the son of God, he will defend him and deliver him...."
"Let us condemn him to a shameful death...."

Does this sound familiar?  It certainly describes Jesus, and what he allowed himself to experience on our behalf.
The Book of Wisdom was written about 100 years before the coming of Christ, and is just one of the Old Testament books in which our Messiah is obviously present in the writings.

Think about that today....
In Christ's Peace.....
