November 29th- Gospel Reflection

11/29/2020

Happy New Year! No don’t worry you didn’t sleep through Christmas, today marks the first day of the new liturgical year. The day where we go from reading cycle A to cycle B. We also put the green vestments in the closet and dawn a rich purple color.

As we begin Advent, we begin a season of preparation for the coming of Christ. We are taught in the Gospel today once again to remain vigilant and prepare for we do not know when this coming will be. We must take all the preparatory actions now, as we strive to live everyday as a disciple of Christ.

Advent is a season of change. A physical change in a bad habit or a spiritual change in our prayer life. An effective change is one that will help you better prepare yourself for the second coming. We are reminded in the responsorial psalm to pray for the face of Jesus to be revealed to us for he is the only way to salvation. Seek him out always, prepare yourself for the day he answers your prayer.

Have a blessed Advent season, continue your preparation, prayey, hope, and don’t worry.

God Bless,
Jonathan
