Lenten Reflection Series- March 9th, 2021

3/9/2021

In today’s Gospel we hear the parable of the merciful master and the not so merciful servant. Peter begins by asking Jesus how many times they must forgive their brother who wrongs them. Jesus simply put it saractly seventy-seven times. There is no limit to forgiveness.

Jesus uses the parable to show the enduring mercy of the Father and regardless how great or small our sins and transgressions, God will look with mercy on us as long as we do the same with our brother.

Why should we inherit the rewards of heaven if we cannot be merciful like God is merciful? Should we be forgiven by God and turn around and scold our brothers for making the same decisions we made? Have mercy, harden not your hearts, allow others to receive the same feeling you did.

God Bless,
Jonathan
