Jesus reminds us that we serve God through our neighbors. That everything we do for those we share this world with is to serve and glorify God. Righteousness is a ticket to eternal life says the Lord. Fulfilling our obligation to corporal and spiritual works of mercy, loving as our Father has loved us.
You may read this passage and think "I don't usually see naked and homeless people, how do I find someone imprisoned?" Have you ever felt mentally naked? So insecure that you feel as though someone took your clothes? Have you ever been estranged from a family member on the holidays? Lacking the "home" feeling from years prior? Have you been locked up by your sin or past decisions where you feel imprisoned?
Christ tells us that not only can he heal us of these, that it's our responsibility to bring those around us in the same position to him. So that no one suffers or is marginalized.
