Lawn - Bernard Clyde January 26, 2023 of Lake View, NY. We are saddened to announce the passing of Bernard "Bunzie" Clyde Lawn of Lake View, Thursday, January 26, 2023. He joined in spirit with his beloved wife Doris who passed last May. The Patriarch of the Lawn family; Bernard fathered four children; Andrew, Timothy, Connie, and Daniel Lawn. A grandfather of eight with one great-grandson, as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends, he is survived by his loving elder sister Elizabeth Horrigan. Bernard was a proud Air Force veteran of the Korean War; he retired from Ma Bell in Western N.Y. as a telephone-line repairman. Bernard was an avid woodsman and volunteered for many years at Beaver Meadows Audubon Center in North Java, NY.
Drago - Robert J. Age 87 of Hamburg, NY entered into rest November 21, 2022 after a brief period of declining health. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robert devoted his life to the food industry where he was still active until late 2021. After college he served as a Captain in the US Army Reserves while embarking on his professional career. With his brother Franklin he was the second generation of his family to run Bison Canning Company Inc. in Angola, NY, and continued on as president of that division after the sale of Bison to Goya Foods. He was an accomplished inventor and innovator who held several patents on food processing machinery that can be found today in the world's leading food manufacturing facilities. An active community volunteer, he was an Emeritus Trustee of Hilbert College and served on the College Council of Alfred State College where his dedicated service was recognized with an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters degree in 2019. He proudly served as a mentor to many college students and young food industry professionals, taking particular joy in sharing his six decades of knowledge and experience with emerging young leaders. He was also a longtime member of SS Peter and Paul Church and Wanakah Country Club in Hamburg, NY for over 50 years. Robert was the loving husband of Doris (Bonadio) Drago; father of Robert (Annmarie) Drago, and Dina (Marcus) Sheward; devoted Grampy to Andrew, Alexander, Matthew, and Jack Drago, and Elena Sheward; son of the late Joseph and Mary (Ross) Drago; brother of the late Franklin (Marilyn) Drago, the late Carolyn (late Richard) McDonald, and the late Lenore (James) Seeley; brother-in-law Nancy (of the late Nicholas) Gentile and the late Louis Bonadio; and "Uncle Bobby" to many nieces and nephews.

WAYMAN - Joan (nee Pieczynski) Beloved wife and mother, died suddenly January 17, 2023 at Atrium Main in Charlotte, NC. She was 83. Joan was born February 11, 1939 in Buffalo, NY, to the late Ignatius and Frances Pieczynski. She was a graduate of Fosdick-Masten Vocational School in Buffalo, the former part-owner of Mid-City Monuments in Buffalo and retired from Ames Department Store in Derby, NY. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she was active in the Ladies Guild, and a devoted member of both the Johnston YMCA and Eastway senior center family and of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) Chapter NC 179, all in Charlotte. She was a former member of St. Paul II Catholic Church in Lakeview, NY and TOPS in Silver Creek, NY. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a longtime season ticket holder with her late husband, Don, and her late sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Don Rehak. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, giving gifts and cards and being the life of the party. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Wayman. They were married 53 years and lived in Derby. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Matt Lemere of Charlotte, N.C.; brother Lawrence Pieczynski of Depew; sister-in-law Geraldine Wayman of Orchard Park; brother-in-law William Wayman of Angola; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends in Buffalo and Charlotte.

WAYMAN - Joan (nee Pieczynski) Beloved wife and mother, died suddenly January 17, 2023 at Atrium Main in Charlotte, NC. She was 83. Joan was born February 11, 1939 in Buffalo, NY, to the late Ignatius and Frances Pieczynski. She was a graduate of Fosdick-Masten Vocational School in Buffalo, the former part-owner of Mid-City Monuments in Buffalo and retired from Ames Department Store in Derby, NY. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she was active in the Ladies Guild, and a devoted member of both the Johnston YMCA and Eastway senior center family and of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) Chapter NC 179, all in Charlotte. She was a former member of St. Paul II Catholic Church in Lakeview, NY and TOPS in Silver Creek, NY. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a longtime season ticket holder with her late husband, Don, and her late sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Don Rehak. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, giving gifts and cards and being the life of the party. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Wayman. They were married 53 years and lived in Derby. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Matt Lemere of Charlotte, N.C.; brother Lawrence Pieczynski of Depew; sister-in-law Geraldine Wayman of Orchard Park; brother-in-law William Wayman of Angola; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends in Buffalo and Charlotte.
GOVENETTIO, Dominic "Boomer" Of Derby, NY, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2023, at the age of 87 with his family by his side. Devoted husband of 65 years to Shirley (nee Clouden) Govenettio; loving father of Joan (Rich) Golda, Theresa (Wally) Black, Judy (Brian) Garrett, Leonard (Lynn) Govenettio, Dominic (Jennifer) Govenettio, Joseph (Colleen) Govenettio, Vincent (Bonnie) Govenettio, Gene Thomas (Connie) Govenettio, and Cate Horucy. Dominic will remain in the hearts and prayers of his 21 Grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
